The objective of the game

Bring a smile to as many children's faces as possible.

Your goal is to deliver as many gifts as possible to children on Christmas Eve. Start loading the sledges and sending them all over the world! Be as strategic as possible so that no sledge travels half-empty and wastes valuable loading space - but, be careful too! If the weight of the gifts exceeds a sledge's capacity, the sledge will crash and all gifts are lost.

The goal is to collect the most points by loading sledges with gifts without overloading them.

The winner is the player who has collected the most points by successfully delivering the most weight in gifts.

Game description

The game consists of several rounds. Each round consists of two phases.

At the beginning of each round, three Sledge Cards are placed in the middle of the table. The round ends when each sledge has been started successfully or crashed.

Phase 1 - Loading

In this phase, the players load gifts onto the sleighs by placing gift cards from their hands face-down beneath the sleigh cards.

Each sledge can only carry a certain number of gift cards. The slot available for gifts are printed on each0Sledge Card in the upper right corner.

Each player places exactly one face-down Gift Card per turn. He can freely choose beneath which sledge he places the Gift Card. The player's turn rotates clockwise.

After a player placed a hand card, he has to draw a new card from the deck, so each player has three handcards at all times. If a player's hand cards consist only of Action Cards (red), the player has to discard his whole hand and draw three new cards.

When the maximum number of Gift Cards on a sledge is reached, the sledge starts, and phase 2 is triggered.

Phase 2 - Sledge Starting

Now all players, no matter whose turn it is, can play Action Cards that act upon the starting sledge (except for the DHL fast delivery/early bird card. This card can only be played in a normal turn). Multiple cards can be played by a player while a sledge starts. The action cards have to be played before the gift cards placed under a sledge have been uncovered.

Only at this point the player who played the last Gift Card is permitted to uncover the gifts placed under the sledge.

The weights of the unvcovered Gift Cards and the effects of the played-out Action Cards are now added up. If they are below or equal to the maximum load of the sledge, the sledge starts successfully, and the player who sent the sledge receives the gifts weights in points.

The receiving player now may move his playing piece by the corresponding number of fields. If the weight of the gifts exceeds the load capacity of the sledge, it unfortunately crashes, and nobody gets points.

In every case, the Sledge Cards with the Action Cards and Gift Cards will be placed on the discard pile and are no longer part of the game. Continue in Phase 1.

End of the round

Once the three initially uncovered sledges have successfully started or crashed, the round is over. Now three new0 Sledge Cards are revealed, and the next round begins—the player who starts placing gift cards changes each round in clockwise direction.

End of the game

The game continues until all Sledge Cards are used up.
